Our Mission is Simple

The West Somerville Neighborhood School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is here to support the learning and development of our students by creating a vibrant, welcoming and fun community of parents, guardians, teachers and staff.

We Support WSNS Teachers

The WSNS PTA helps teachers plan field trips and in-school events, provides funding for in- and out-of-the-classroom enrichments and supplies our classrooms with materials our teachers request, such as Scholastic News and Scholastic Science magazines. 

We Support WSNS Families

The WSNS PTA hosts events throughout the year to celebrate and connect the WSNS community. Past efforts have included Ice cream socials, movie nights and school spirit days!
​The WSNS PTA is also proud to administer the WSNS Emergency Fund to help families in times of crisis.

How We Do It

Membership

The number one way to support the PTA is to become a PTA member. Membership is free, and each member must sign up every year. We welcome your membership at any time during the school year.  As a member you will receive WSNS PTA updates and learn about opportunities to contribute. Learn more.

Donations

By raising funds from within our community the PTA supports student's learning through enrichment events, field trips and classroom resources; host community events that bring us together; and celebreate our educators.
Through our donation page or by check, you can donate to:
  • The General PTA Fund: support for our classrooms,  school-wide events and community efforts.
  • The WSNS Emergency Fund: support for our families in need, in coordination with our school based family and community liaison, when an emergency occurs.

WEAR YOUR WESTIE PRIDE

Purchase your official WSNS apparel and accessories and support the work of the PTA at the same time. All proceeds go to our general fund that supports classroom enrichment, community events and teacher requests.
